I started in digital marketing in 2011, in-house at a heavy equipment finance company, working directly with the CEO on lead generation. When that company was acquired, I co-founded an e-commerce business with a partner here in Canada. We grew it for five years and sold it to a competitor.
That's the part of my resume that matters most. I've spent my own money on ads. I've watched a slow week land on the P&L. When I say I treat your budget like it's mine, it's because I remember exactly what that feels like.
After the sale I went freelance, and that grew into Convert Lab: a small, founder-led agency on Vancouver Island focused entirely on performance marketing. Some of my clients have been with me for years. My longest, Steed Cycles, hired me in 2019 and is still here.
